Aprovechando Zih Tiempo

Now we're up to 35 confirmed cases and 3 deaths including the Director Municipal de Seguridad Pública y Tránsito Gildardo Justo Zurita.

Troncones reconsidered their stance and decided to put off their reopening until July 15, but lots of folks went to the beach there yesterday because they had declared Troncones was open, and almost immediately there were a-holes driving on the beach. But we love all our tourists, right?

The Gobernador de Guerrero Héctor Astudillo Flores, who is currently ill with the virus, declared that the use of cubrebocas is obligatorio, which really only means it is strongly recommended because the Corte Suprema de la Nación already ruled no one should be detained or punished for not wearing one. I see more people using them in the streets, but I also see tourists without them doing normal touristy things like letting their children climb on our statues so they can take their picture.

Paty Montufar who has the restaurant Paty's Mar y Mar next to the Villa Mexicana today on a popular radio talk show called for the Blue Flag rules to be modified so that folks could have their pets on the beach with the understanding that people who aren't responsible for their pets would be fined. The same thing most of us have been saying for years ever since this became an issue and especially since 2 or 3 people began talking about certifying La Ropa Beach. The lack of response by the municipal government on this issue is not encouraging, but I hope they are considering what the majority of the affected citizens and visitors are saying.

Many fishermen continue working hard to try to support their families and feed the community.
