Hablando de Mezcal

I fondly remember that day. I wish I had had the good sense to buy more mescal from the late señor who made it that without bureaucratic interventions. :)

I had a friend in Canada who was a tequila enthusiast. I gave him a bottle of that product. He kept it in his “reserve cupboard” for special guests.

I wish I could get something like that again sometime. Especially at that price!

I'm not aware that Don Eladio passed on. Did you hear something? I haven't seen him for a few years, he had some sons or nephews that helped him out, so they may still be selling his product, but the sad truth is that most of the people in Vallecitos have been run out of their homes due to insecurity in the region.

There was another guy who also sold mescal from the same community, but I haven't seen him around for long while either. But every Saturday at the Eco-Tianguis Sanka they sell "Ojo de Víbora" mezcal. Good stuff, for sure! Another friend sells some quality mezcal from Tixtla, Guerrero that is probably also a good substitute for rocket fuel. I'll see if he's still doing business later this week.
