This has only been shut down for the responsible people who are taking it seriously. Tourist buses where the people dont practice very much safety, no masks, partying, and half the locals wear no mask. We either take it seriously or its going on through the winter tourist season, then how many businesses could survive, and how many more will be hungry. Yes, it may be a rant but cant we see how terrible the US is handling this issue, and we are basically following them

I'm pretty sure it's going to be with us for years, not just a winter season.

The businesses that are open are the ones allowed to be open, otherwise they are not open. The downtown streets are lined with closed businesses for blocks and blocks. Many will never open again.

We aren't "following" the USA. Our experience has been entirely different, in spite of the outright falsehoods some newspapers have been reporting. The state of Florida is almost twice as bad as the entire country of Mexico. I'd say we were doing great for a "third world sh¡thole country" with hardly any public healthcare resources. Somehow we slowed the pandemia down considerably. Last I heard there were only 20 Covid-19 patients at the Hospital General.

I recommend not watching news from the USA. Each day it's worse. It used to be a much better nation than it is now.
