Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 329 confirmed cases of Covid-19 with 46 active cases, 197 people recovered, and 46 deaths.

Most of the locals I see in the waterfront and downtown area are using facemasks, except the usual alkies near the Cancha, and increasingly it appears our visitors are, too, except for the folks in the not-so-clandestine bar nearby whom we can hear wailing along with the music at night. Not sure what loophole they are using, but I'm surprised they've been allowed to operate this long without any interference from the police.

Sure looked like it was going to rain last night and this morning. Plenty of thunder rumbling and dark ominous clouds, but then it barely sprinkled and I had to water our plants this morning. Typical July weather. July is a real tease like so many Florida teenyboppers. ;-)

Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa's, Puerto Vicente Guerrero's and Troncones' lodging operators continue working hard to train their staff and to comply with the requirements of operating during the Semáforo Naranja of the current pandemia. While hotels are limited to operating at 30% capacity, vacation rentals have less complicated restrictions. With so many of our truly lovely vacation rental properties available, now is an excellent time to make your reservation and send your deposit to help them get back on their feet after 5 months without any clients.
