Zihuatanejo has tallied an accumulated total of 428 confirmed Covid-19 cases, 101 of which are currently active, 223 who have recovered, and 54 total deaths. There was a decline in cases last week from the week before.

More tourists are arriving by car this weekend than last, and I haven't seen any of them using facemasks. The local government says its police are telling people to wear facemasks and to practice safe distancing and handing them out free to those who don't have them, but we have seen none of this here in the downtown area that includes the waterfront and pier. Anyone else?

We haven't had water here in downtown Zihuatanejo all week long. Not sure what's up with that. It simply never arrived yesterday as we were promised. Thank goodness for patchouli and desodorante. ;-)

Recently we treated ourselves to a delicious pizza from La Porteña that they delivered to our home. We also enjoyed pozole delivered to our home from La Jaiba Feliz. Many restaurants are delivering meals, and others are adapting their restaurants to meet the new health safety standards so that people don't have to share menus or condiments. Surfaces that people commonly touch are wiped down and sanitized. Please consider patronizing the restaurants recommended on my website. All of them are not open, so call first to be sure. The ones that are will certainly appreciate your business.
