As of today there have been 818 confirmed cumulative cases of the Covid-19 virus in Zihuatanejo, 62 of which resulted in fatalities. As of yesterday there were 258 active cases, and 465 people had recovered. Anyone still not wearing a facemask in public places is either just plain stupid or incredibly arrogant. Fortunately the message finally seems to have reached almost everyone, and almost everyone here is using a facemask according to what my wife and I have seen.

Another cloudy evening with threatening skies but no rain. These are some of the hottest days of the year. Remember what I said way back near the beginning of July about the rain.

A big shout out to our friends at La Jaiba Feliz for their excellent service and delicious meals. The local restaurants seem to be adjusting well to the rules they have to operate by, and I think they're giving an extra effort to try to convince folks to use their services. Well, I'm certainly convinced, and I hope more folks will take advantage of the restaurants trying to make a comeback after so many months of not operating. They really need our business now. After hotels, restaurants are one of the biggest local employers in almost any tourist destination. (They sure helped me to get through college.)
