As of today Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 1,320 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 96 that have resulted in fatalities, 31 that are currently active, and approximately 1,109 that have recovered. Still not seeing the spike I was expecting.

I'm saddened to report that we're continuing to lose tourist-dependent businesses that have not had any clients since last March. It really is worrisome. Fortunately Guerrero is not going to Semáforo Rojo this week as had been predicted by many, so we continue with a "modified" version of the protocols for Semáforo Naranja. I've been watching the numbers here and around the country, and they generally seem to be dropping. Only in parts of Ciudad de México and some other large cities do the rates of infection remain relatively high compared to most of the nation. If we get through the next couple of weeks without a spike, then I would expect to see numbers continue decreasing.

If you are planning on visting us this coming fall or winter season, PLEASE consider making plans to take a tour or two and sending a deposit to help these folks get through these tough times.
