As of today Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 1,329 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 96 that have resulted in fatalities, 31 that are currently active, and approximately 1,109 that have recovered. Still no spike.

The city government has restricted access somewhat to Isla Ixtapa saying the restaurants must respect the protocols of the Semáforo Naranja.

Finally the federal laws regarding beach access might be applied. A city official has filed a complaint (finally) with the proper federal authorities to regain public access to numerous local beaches that have essentially been privatized. We're all watching the progress of this matter carefully.

A wonderful restaurant will be opening at the old JJ's / Margaritas next to Coconuts on Vicente Guerrero street. No more noisy bar. I'll save the surprise so that those of you coming here or already here can discover for yourself who it is when it opens. Lupita and I are thrilled at this new turn of events as are our neighbors.

For those of you who are here or plan to be here soon, please take advantage of the delivery service offered by many of our local restaurants. They are doing their part trying to help keep people fed and their workers employed under difficult circumstances, and they deserve our support.
