The cost of the flu vaccine isn't covered by Canada's medical plan? All of my vaccines are free with our insurance in the sates.

Medical services, both physician services and hospital services, are available to all through universal health care. The provision of pharmaceuticals outside of a hospital varies by province.

In most provinces, flu shots are free for everyone, based on medical determinations. The medical determinations are that the regular flu vaccine is suitable for adults. It is provided free.

The high dosage flu vaccine is indicated for seniors living in congregate facilities due to being a higher risk population in higher risk circumstances and is provided there.

Many employed people in Canada have supplemental health insurance through employment that will cover high dose vaccine.
