Private Hospital

Concerned about Covid (who isn't) and wondering if anyone knows the facts about medical treatment in Zihua. I understand there are varying levels of medical treatment, depending on insurance coverage or ability to pay cash. Covid survival rates seems horrible in the "public" hospital system. Is there a first class private Hospital/Clinic that can treat Covid? Are ventilators available if needed. Traveling without medical coverage so would need facility that takes cash. Any info on this topic is greatly appreciated.

I don't know why you say survival rates are horrible in the public hospital. That is a myth not based on facts. If you get Covid-19 here you call a number and they come and get you or you quarantine in place, depending on your medical needs. The ventilators are in the public hospitals and the cooperating private hospitals outfitted for Covid-19 patients.

As long as you mask up, wash your hands after touching things other people have touched, and practice social distancing as best as possible you should be able to enjoy your vacation without incident. If you read the posts here by other travellers I think you'll see that Mexico appears to take this problem quite seriously although our overall response has been much different. In Mexico, from the airport to the door of your accommodations you will only come in contact with people who are practicing responsible health protocols. If anyone sneezes or coughs in your face you have my permission to whack them upside the head with a bone! ;-)
