As of today Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 1,416 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 102 that have resulted in fatalities, 48 that are currently active, and approximately 1,174 that have recovered. Things appear to be under control again in Zihuatanejo as the bump passes and the number of new cases slows back down along with the number of deaths, though it will take 2 or 3 weeks to confirm the apparent trend.

Another little rainstorm blew in from the ocean late this afternoon and brought some much welcomed and needed rain, though only a little. It was a hot day today, a day for mostly staying out of the sun. It felt like a day in May when the heat and humidity build up before the rainy season begins, but this is how the rainy season also ends. Let's see if the cooler ocean currents move in as they usually do at the end of the hurricane season or if we're in for some prolonged heat and humidity

I love the smell of the ocean on the rocks at the far end of La Madera where the beach ends. A storm blows past just offshore.
