As of today Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 1,433 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (17 more than yesterday), 103 that have resulted in fatalities, 43 that are currently active, and approximately 1,190 that have recovered. It looks like the uptick continues, though only two patients at the ISSTE are on ventilators and none at the Hospital General.

Not quite as hot today or last night as yesterday. But no rain and not much breeze.

The Guardia Nacional were patrolling on foot today along the waterfront. Good to see them. They are very professional and polite. Things have been quite calm in Guerrero since their arrival. There is also a noticeable presence along the coastal highway with numerous checkpoints. Travel is much safer than it's been in years, and I've had no worries at all during my numerous trips to Acapulco this year where I've had to travel during the dark early morning hours. Nothing but a lovely scenic drive with too many damn topes.

There were quite a few families of tourists enjoying the downtown beach today. Local wandering musicians were doing a good business and making lovely music that drifted our way. We also received a visit from a naval vessel.
