:vivamexico: ¡Viva La Revolución Mexicana! ¡Viva México!

As of today Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 1,485 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (11 less than yesterday?), 117 that have resulted in fatalities, 3 that are currently active, and approximately 1,266 that have recovered. I get the feeling the stats are being adjusted according to either the actual residence of victims instead of their origin or some similar criteria. I've seen no explanation for the anomalies but it could be something simple as some people being reported twice due to the non-standardization of reporting by municipios and states or discrepancies in reporting by private and public health facilities. I'm not concerned about it. I believe the health authorities and people involved in reporting these stats are doing so in good faith and endeavoring to be transparent.

This was the first year we've not had a parade for Día de la Revolución. Really changes the mood for this time of year by not having these celebrations and seeing all the children march in the parade. I especially miss the charros! Always our favorite part of the parade.

Heard two ambulances rush by this morning, and this afternoon the power went out downtown for about an hour. This is what passes for excitement here.

I was extremely disappointed to see city workers remove the adoquín paving stones from Plaza del Artista and use a front end loader to dump them into a dump truck to be hauled away. Usually they would be carefully removed, stacked, saved and reused since they were in good shape. That's how things were done when our streets were still adoquín. Dreading seeing concrete poured into their place in our little plaza. May have to get me a sledgehammer. We are extremely disappointed in our local government for the entire manner in which they have imposed this dubious remodelación project on us ignoring all local feedback and with zero transparency. But then that situation simply speaks for itself and we get the message loud and clear. Another politician puts their personal interest over that of the community. Quite an old story. Sad to see our current mayor behave in this fashion.

If you're thinking of buying a home or property here or in our region, these are the services I can recommend as being reliable and trustworthy.
