As of today, since April 18, 2020 Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 1,711 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (1 more than yesterday), 133 that have resulted in fatalities, 24 that are currently active, and approximately 1,441 that have recovered. Medical personnel in the state continue receiving their vaccinations. No word yet on when those next on the list will begin receiving theirs.

Very few tourists around. The construction on the Zihuatanejo waterfront is keeping folks away from the area, to the detriment of downtown businesses and vendors. Somebody denounced in local media an event with a gathering of around 500 people at the Azul Ixtapa hotel. Such gatherings are supposed to be prohibited at the moment. Not sure why the hotel would throw caution to the wind and risk causing a large outbreak.

Our weather continues to be absolutely perfect. Some rain clouds danced their way through the sierra, but not along the coast. The ocean here remains so calm you could water ski on it. Can hardly hear any waves at night.

Too bad about "American Magic" at the Prada Cup yesterday in Auckland.
