Catamaran on Playa Ropa today - Flushing down stream?
Back in the day when there were many yachts anchored in the bay, I'd be sitting in the open air living area of Casa Amarilla on top of La Madera, and rarely see one of the boats head out of the bay to empty their sewage tank and return. Nor have I ever seen folks dive off their boat and swim around them. Then there was the day when I was snorkeling off Playa La Madera and a 3 or 4 foot piece of used toilet paper came floating by. We finally decided to spend our beach time at Otilia's at the far end of Playa Las Gatas, since that is close to the mouth of the bay and the tide seems to enter the bay on a counter-clockwise direction, so the water there is probably the cleanest. Of course with so fewer boats visiting, one can assume that the water is cleaner at all of the beaches these days.
