As of today, since April 18, 2020 Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 2,033 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (5 more than yesterday), 159 that have resulted in fatalities, 42 that are currently active, and approximately 1,698 that have recovered. Let's hope we don't see another spike after this past weekend. A lot of people showed up here Saturday and Sunday. Playa Linda was saturated yesterday afternoon, and inexpensive downtown restaurants were pretty busy last night.

Still no phone calls or news about when locals over 60 will get their vaccinations. The process started this week in many communities throughout Mexico, though the snowstorms and power outages in the northern states caused cancellations and other problems.

Today is International Childhood Cancer Day. If you can, please make a donation to the Hospital Infantil Teletón de Oncología in Querétaro where our grandson is by clicking on the link, or donate to the institute of your choice.

Businesses are folding right and left for lack of customers. Only Oxxo, inexpensive restaurants and economy lodgings that let you sleep ten to a room seem to be making any money from the busloads of tourists that arrive. It's pretty disheartening to witness.

Morning at Playa La Madera.
