Presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador plans for México to rely on 35.8% clean and renewable energy by 2024. Considering where México was when he assumed the presidency this is a laudable goal, though there are plenty of folks who don't want to see this happen, including many within the government bureaucracy and labor unions as well as those influyentes and corruptos who spent so much time and energy trying to profit by opening up areas for energy exploitation by private interests as well as by trying to bankrupt Pemex, the national petroleum company.
