As of today, since April 18, 2020 Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 2,055 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (7 more than yesterday), 162 that have resulted in fatalities, 51 that are currently active, and approximately 1,708 that have recovered. Only Guerrero and Guanajuato remain in Semáforo Rojo. Pretty much all over the country the numbers are coming down after the Christmas holiday spike. Guerrero currently registers 45% of its Covid-19 hospital beds occupied, and 30% of its ventilators.

I only found out today that Diana Fernández passed away recently. I knew she had been ill for a while. Some of you studied Spanish with her, others of you were her friends. She left a positive mark on our community and will be missed.

Our weather remains absolutely perfect. Living by the ocean is keeping us from experiencing the drop in temperatures being felt further inland.

The nights have been extremely peaceful and perfect for sleeping without the cacophony of all the noisy bars and their noisy customers. The waves have picked up a bit making for soothing sleeping music. Couldn't even hear them for several weeks the ocean had been so calm.

A fiery flash in the sky over Zihuatanejo's Cerro Viejo at the end of the day.
