As of today, since April 18, 2020 Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 2,229 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (4 more than yesterday), 182 that have resulted in fatalities, 25 that are currently active, and approximately 1,879 that have recovered.

In case you missed it, the starting time for the first day of vaccinations on Friday was moved up to 11:00 from 14:00. I've updated the time on my post.

I haven't heard anything about vaccinations for La Unión (Troncones) or Petatlán or the sierra of Zihuatanejo. I hope all those folks don't show up in Zihuatanejo this weekend expecting to get vaccinated. There won't be enough shots and it could cause problems.

Our weather remains absolutely perfect. The evenings are still cool enough for sleeping with the window open and a fan on low, sheets optional. The waves have mostly calmed back down so that they aren't roaring throughout the night here in the bay like they were. We didn't see much erosion but the canal La Boquita sure filled up with water all the way to Plaza Kioto.

Not that many tourists here. Nothing like a normal Semana Santa vacation period. So far we've had only two days of real crowds with no place to park and the sidewalks and beaches packed.

Not sure who thought putting cheap Chinese umbrellas up as decorations was a good idea. They keep getting broken by drunks and vandals. This is the pedestrian bridge to La Madera we still call El Vado.

Easter is a complete bust in Ixtapa.
