As of today, since April 18, 2020 Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 2,430 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (1 more than yesterday), 194 that have resulted in fatalities, 4 that are currently active, and approximately 2,081 that have recovered.

Official results of the election are still not available, but the preliminary results look like the turnout was lower than expected, with only about 53% of the voters participating. It looks like Zihuatanejo will have Jorge Sánchez for 3 more years, but that Guerrero's new governor will be the Moreno candidate Evelyn Salgado, which means PRI and PRD administrations can expect to be scrutinized if not outright investigated for their deeds and expenses. This could get interesting.

When lightning and thunder crashed only 4 miles away we thought for sure rain was on the way, but apparently the storm ran into a wall of rising thermal heat from all the concrete poured and trees cut down over the past 3 years that stopped it in its tracks. We barely even got a brief sprinkle and I still had to water our plants. Another day with no relief from the heat. ¡E'tamo' sala'o'!
