With 365 active cases of Covid-19 currently registered in Zihuatanejo, we have almost half as many active cases as Acapulco currently does (752) even though we're only about a sixth of its population. La Unión currently registers 9 active cases (the highest number I've seen for them), and Petatlán currently registers 8 (ditto). As I predicted not long ago, Guerrero is going to Semáforo Naranja beginning next Monday.

We had some thunderstorms rumble by our coast last night making for some beautiful scenery with the full moon, but still not a drop of rain in downtown Zihuatanejo. Had to water plants again today. Typical July and season of La Canícula.

A big shout out to Restaurante Any for taking good care of some visiting family before they left for home this week. Excellent service, delicious food and truly wonderful people to be around. Worth every peso!

Once the sun comes out hardly anyone can stand being on the remodeled walkway because it gets so hot, especially at this time of year. The shaded area where the palm trees are has no seating. Really poorly thought out design. Now we have no zócalo, no gazebo, no heart of the town. Gee thanks, Jorge!
