Amado is a regular sight on Playa la Ropa grooming coconuts, topping trees and finding lost items in the ocean. He has worked for many condo associations and individuals and nurseries.

On Sunday afternoon, while topping a tall tree from the top of a tall ladder, the top of the tree knocked him off of the ladder to the ground. He landed on his feet, barefoot of course. He called us Monday morning needing help and advice on which hospital to go to for his possibly broken ankles. We did what we could and he called us back about noon with the news. He had broken his right ankle and it was in a cast. He had also broken a bone on the bottom of his left foot and that one he just has to stay off of so it can heal.

He was prescribed painkillers and calcium supplements and has to stay off of his feet for two months. We just checked in with him and he is encouraged because his research has made him believe what the doctor said, that he will be fine in time.
He has had a wheelchair donated for his use and crutches, although they are still tough since he is to stay off of both feet.

Yes, those are kittens at his feet, they live in the place he does and he is feeding them. They are helping to keep him busy.

If you would like to help him out in any way, please click on the envelope next to our name.
