La Ropa Issues

The blue flag area (look it up on line for many many pages of rules and regulations) is from the north end of Playa la Ropa to the mercadito, which is between Villa Mexicana and The Thompson. That is all.

The chair/umbrella/food regulation is a state regulation dealing with COVID and hopefully will change. Keep complaining!!!!

The lounge chairs on the beach is a federal thing, some restaurants were able to, many years ago, purchase the right to have chairs on the beach from a specified distance from the high tide line, constant use, and a number of other rules. Obviously some have it and some don't.

It's time to have all of the beach accesses opened up and the chair/umbrella COVID thing changed due to health. People will be sick and sunburned if they cannot get out of the sun. And what about the tourism that this town wants?

Make your thoughts known to the appropriate agency. Please

The prohibition on chairs and umbrellas apparently doesn't affect Ixtapa's hotels and condos who have all people using their chairs and palapas (like umbrellas) on the beach every day. I notice Acapulco's beaches are also full of chairs and umbrellas.

If the local government weren't enforcing the stupid rule against beach chairs, umbrellas and FUN on the beach we wouldn't have this problem. But as usual, it appears our local government's ONLY interest is pouring as much cement as it can wherever it can. And that's a damn shame!
