Still no active cases of Covid-19 along the Costa Grande of Guerrero. Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika now have our attention as the rainy season approaches.

From May 11 to 13 Covid-19 vaccinations will be given to adolescents 12 to 17 years old. They need to present two copies each of their parents' consent, online registration, CURP, proof of residence and credencial de tutor.

Guerrero's government declared there are no more occupancy limits at hotels, restaurants or any other businesses. Facemasks are no longer obligatory except in a few places including hospitals, public transport, airports, bus depots, schools and churches. Everywhere else they are optional. See details here:

Hats off to the mayor Jorge Sánchez Allec for cancelling the events of Domingo Cultural at the Cancha Municipal out of respect for the velorio at Casa Marina for our dear departed friend Joe Wells. They had been doing sound checks that suggested it was going to be a rather noisy evening of loud music. Muchas gracias, Señor Presidente.

Don't forget that 10 DE MAYO is Día de las Madres here in Mexico. It should be extremely busy at most of the restaurants, and you'll see flowers for sale downtown.

Lupita's Boutique will be open for Día de las Madres.

For some ideas where to enjoy an excellent meal for Día de las Madres see my list of recommended restaurants.
Restaurants in Zihuatanejo, Ixtapa, Troncones & Barra de Potosí

¡Cuidemos nuestro patrimonio!

A fishing panga races ashore on the downtown beach.

That is some great R.E.S.P.E.C.T. for Joe
