Guerrero's health authorities report 7 currently active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, 31 in Acapulco, 54 in the entire state. Overall things still look good for Guerrero.

Yesterday evening's rain was perfect for cooling everything down and wetting the plants without saturating the ground or causing any flooding. However, the canal La Boquita finally opened up and stagnant sea water went back into the back from where it came. It didn't smell good, but that's about all. The bay water still looked good and fairly clean this morning as you can see in the photo below. There was hardly any garbage on the beach from the canal or the lagoon. A nice surprise.

It looks like school is going to continue until the last week of July this year because of all the time lost due to the pandemia. This won't be good for folks awaiting the summer tourist season. Students will have a little over a month of vacation instead of the normal 2.

The luxurious vacation rental lodging Casa Amarillo atop the hill at La Madera offers amazing views of the bay, beach and town, and it's within relatively easy walking distance of numerous excellent restaurants as well as downtown Zihuatanejo. Truly one of our loveliest lodgings.
