Health authorities report there are currently 5 active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, 126 for the entire state of Guerrero. But NO cases of dengue so far this year.

Had to sleep with the hurricane shutters closed last night because the wind was so strong. After it let up this morning there were brigades of city workers on the beach trying to put all the sand back where it belonged, a gargantuan task. Had a front-end loader working on the beach. They even washed down the streets. Then the strong winds started back up again... :-o

We've also had some off-and-on rains, stronger in some areas than others. Not too much at all downtown. Just enough to water our plants and to help keep most of the beach from blowing away.

Can't blame the tourists for not coming this week. It's really slow right now, and with heavy rains in the forecast along the coast it's not the best time to be driving unless you have to.

The port is still closed to small vessels. No fresh fish today.

Bambutreehouse is an authentic and original Zihuatanejo experience overlooking La Ropa from a low hill at the southern end and within easy walking distance of the beach and numerous restaurants. Adorned with handmade furniture, local handcrafts and art made by its owner, this is a lodging for folks wanting a true Zihuatanejo experience, close to nature and a bit rustic but still quite comfortable. This is the kind of lodging where I personally would feel most at home. Hopefully you will, too.
