Health authorities report 1 currently active case of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, 4 in Petatlán.

We finally got a heavy rain that likely caused some flooding downtown. It sure washed away a lot of dirt the previous light rains didn't quite get. Fortunately it was only heavy for about a half hour before letting up. Just what many of us were hoping for so the sandías currently growing will be nice and juicy!

There are a surprising amount of tourists here at the moment, though they are mostly the All-Inclusive hotel guests and bus day-trippers, but it's still good to see folks here enjoying themselves.

We will likely receive some more rain tonight and the for the next couple of days as Celia grows and passes by our coast. It doesn't appear that it's going to be as big as Blas was, but a low pressure trough has been moving along the coast of Guerrero and another is expected tomorrow. Celia isn't expected to become a hurricane until Thursday.

Las Azucenas is one of La Ropa's nicest small boutique hotels. Though not right on the beach, it's tucked right behind Villa Mexicana in an excellent location, and many rooms have a decent view of the ocean as does their rooftop restaurant.
