Health authorities for Guerrero currently register 178 active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, 12 in La Unión, 33 in Petatlán, 17 in Técpan, 656 in Acapulco, and 3,242 for the entire state. Looks like active cases are falling fast, just in time for the summer vacation period that starts this week. ;-)

It was announced today that the Ejército is going to be given land to build facilities for a battalion on next to the megaproject that's going to privatize and ruin Playa Manzanillo. I smell a political favor and the local government pulling a fast one.

Looks like we have another storm forming up right off our coast, a little closer than previous ones. Keep an eye on our local weather.

There was a nice sprinkle throughout much of the early morning hours. Enough to water the plants. It provided for another refreshing evening perfect for sleeping. Had to turn the fan on low and snuggle under the sheet with my sweetie. Paradise!

A lovely lodging in La Madera that I love to recommend is Villa Cruz del Mar. A colonial-style home converted into a small family-run hotel featuring 7 comfortable air-conditioned rooms surrounding an enclosed garden courtyard with a pool. Less than a 3-minute walk from the beach.

Finding this adoquín covered in oyster shells tells a story in itself. This is what our roads and plazas used to be paved with. Apparently one adoquín went into the bay where oysters grew on it, then somehow it made its way here to the beach. Rain was still sprinkling when I took this photo Monday morning.
