Guerrero's health officials report 2 confirmed currently active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, NO cases in La Unión, Petatlán, or Técpan, 30 in Acapulco, and 84 in the entire state.

Tropical Storm Lester seems to have petered out around the border of Oaxaca with the Costa Chica of Guerrero. Torrential rains along much of the coast causes flooding and landslides, though I don't believe any lives were lost. Phone and internet services kept going off, but in downtown Zihuatanejo our lights only went off briefly around noon. The rain continues but quite light. Haven't seen any gusting winds here in the bay, but for a while this morning it rained fairly heavy.

Oddly, lots of tourists seemed to have shown up this morning just in time for the storm. It's astounding how many people apparently pay no attention to weather reports. :beatwall:

Of course, the port and piers are once again closed to navigation by smaller vessels. Fresh local fish is going to be hard to come by.

A beautiful Zihuatanejo-style lodging at La Ropa, Bambutreehouse best preserves the local style of living so many of us fell in love with years ago at this lovely two-bedroom two-bath open-air traditional home located on a low hill just a short walk from the beach.
