Bringing Pets into Mexico?

We have been bringing our dogs down by RV for years. We always have a vet certificate, and copies of their rabies certificates. We have never been asked to produce any paperwork entering Mexico nor the United States. We were asked once crossing back into Canada.

We never worry about the date on the health certificate and as I said we have been doing this for eight years. This year we left home in June and didn't cross into Mexico until November.

Note that Mexico only recognises a one year Rabies vaccination, though 2 and 3 year shots are common in Canada and the United States. We just go with the normal shots in Canada. It's a moot point as we have never been asked for paper work, and the vaccine used for the 2 or 3 years shots are the same as the one year used in Mexico!

If you are flying in, they may check more carefully, but we have never heard of anyone in an RV being asked. They know we have dogs as the usually want to come in and check the rig. Until they see the dogs! :-)
