Demystifying a visit to the Monarch's in Angangueo

After a failed attempt to drive to the El Rosario Monarch butterfly reserve last February due to the torrential rain storm that devastated the small high mountain town and killed 37 residents, we have just returned and Angangueo is rebuilding and wants your visit.

We have just completed a 2 week roadtrip and have seen and done so much in the states of Michoacan, Jalisco, Guanajuato and Colima. The grand finale was the Monarch reserve. I promised the local tourism representative and the fine young man who was our guide that I would share our enthusiasm with others back here in Zihua. Seeing the butterflies was more impressive than I imagined, the trek wasn't difficult and the reserve is a beautiful day trip from Morelia or could be a great 2-3 day getaway from Zihua, combining a stay in Patzcuaro and Morelia.

I'd be happy to answer any questions so email for more...
