2 or 3 years ago the museum in Morelia had a show of Diego Rivera's collection of pre-Columbian pottery. 2 rooms full of absolutely stunning pieces. Traditions Mexico offers a tour of pottery villages in Michoacan, among other interesting trips. I did that one a while ago with a couple of my potter friends from Anchorage and loved it. Highly recommended, even for non-potters.
