Why I do what I do...

I know that to many or most it seems like I (we) live in Paradise. We pass our days on sun drenched beaches, sip margaritas and are overall happy with life. I have been told so many times that I have a "dream job" and how lucky I am. I do feel I am fortunate to be able to help provide for my family but there is another thing that I do... It is VERY rewarding but certainly not so easy.

I visit "my" towns, where I take my tours but these towns are also where my family live. They have good lives in a certain sense, but they are struggling to make it, just to survive. I do what I can, ask for donations here and there and try to give them to who needs them... But the needs are many, and for every one person or village we help there are dozens, hundreds, thousands more in need. I get attached, deeply and emotionally attached and to be honest it is something I struggle with. It is hard, taxing and sometimes exasperating but here are some of the results of YOUR efforts to help. It has been a good season for me and for them. Thanks to each and everyone of you...

I recognize the orange shirt the boy with the cowboy hat is wearing. I'll be sure to show the photo to our son. There is such a need I'd encourage people to bring what they can. We enjoyed the waterfall tour, our favorite part was seeing the kids.

We can not thank you enough for all your help.

This is the proof that there is still good hearted people
left in the world willing to let a stranger in their hearts.

Thank you so very much for everyone helping us in our journey to help others.

Please know the people who recieve these things know it comes from your hearts. They enjoy very much meeting all of you.:-)

Wil and Belem

The photos make me cry. You really catch the reality of those who you photograph. Thank you both so much for your efforts to be as my grandaughter says "do gooders". I will try to help more in the future.

I saw your horse/surf pix above before looking at these. The horse shot's pretty easy -- it was there, you waited for the wave, and there you go. But w/these people shots -- those open, trusting faces -- those don't just happen. You've built that trust; you're a good man, Wil! We'll look forward to bringing more things for them next winter.
