I am going to Acapulco this Tuesday by bus to get my passport renewed. Does anyone know of a reasonable hotel close to the embassy located in the Hotel Continental Emporio?
Thanks,

Gary

Trivago shows the Hotel Continental Emporio going for 63 bucks a night.

Why not stay right there?

Try the Villas La Lupita. Easy walking distance to both the Emporio and Sanborns restaurant (a good safe place to eat with A/C and free wi-fi) as well as banks, shopping and other decent restaurants, and only a short 10-minute walk to the Estrella de Oro bus station and the Central de Autobuses (right next door to Estrella de Oro where all the other major buslines are located). Around 600 pesos a night.

Thanks to both of you. Good rate at the Emporio. Get to sleep in and just walk downstairs.

Cheers

Please see my Email to U.

Briefly here, my suggestion was a relatively new modern and contemporary Hotel, (UNLIKE the majority of them that are on the Costera stip, that are 30-40 years old), called:

Hotel ONE Acapulco Costera

Only thing is, walking from there to the US passport office is a little far.
But, public transportation is abundant and cheap up and down the stip Costera Miguél Alemán.

Others who responded, also made nice recommendations for You.

Happy & safe travels.
