Zih Thirty in the Morning

The morning's coolness inspires different folks to do different things. We always see folks we know enjoying the most pleasant and peaceful time of the day, some getting their exercise, others out fishing, others discussing local affairs over coffee and pan dulce. The waterfront draws many of us to start our day here where we enjoy the singular beauty that is la bahía de Zihuatanejo.

Sigh. We just booked our flights for next winter's stay. Your pictures remind us that the long wait is worth it.

The Morning's Coolness...

29c at the crack of dawn? Not real bad if the 75% relative humidity wasn't here.

HACE CALOR! The cry of the locals. When they gripe it's not something to be dismissed.

A breathable hammock, out of doors, a pabellon with a fan inside is the "hot" setup.

Ha ha ha ha! Spoken like a true snowbird! The morning these photos were taken we awoke to 22°C temps and 65% humidity. Here in Zihuatanejo we think that's cool. B-)

22c with a humidity of 65% = a humidex of 26c and that is a beautiful temp :brilliant:

On the other hand 29c with a humidity of 75% = a humidex of 40c, pretty toasty for the crack of Dawn!!

Ahhh yes Keith, the old tried and true, not to mention the cost vs the overpriced rain gear suggested by the so called Experts!

Tropical Snowbird

by mexicowanderer, Thursday, June 15, 2017, 17:38 (9 days ago) @ ZihuaRob

Wait! Let me run around the pueblo and and tell all the sweating locals that Zihua Rob says sleeping in 30c 75% relative humidity is comfortable. This snowbird lives 100 miles to the north of you. 24/7/365/12 years. This snowbird is also ciudandano Méxicano :)

Jesús, Brenda, Flaca, and Eduardo all remark how enclosed the bay of Zihuatanejo is, cutting off the summer sea breeze. But one thing for sure, your turf has far better, safer swimming for las nietas. But hype promotions aside, how are your current break of dawn conditions? Our relief comes in the form of thunderstorms from the mountains.

But there is no question open to the ocean location is a lot more comfortable than an enclosed bay. It's hard to BS about fishing to people who live along the river.
