We have stayed at VM 2 years ago and friends stayed there last year at much lower rates than now. Their rates have increased to include breakfast and drinks. 1 bedroom starts at $215 Cdn. I'm assuming they've changed their accommodation model? Has anyone booked a room without this feature? They're not responding to my request for a price with just the room rate.

For what time frame?

Trivago shows them as low as $73 U.S. per night until the first of the year, and I don't know that 2018 prices a set yet.

I saw that too. But they sent the rates for 2018 its 2990 pesos and 3790 pesos for 3 people per night for Feb 25-Mar 23. Jan 20-Feb 24 is 3490 pesos for 2 people. That's for the garden view rooms.

Wowzers! I just booked the Villa de la Roca for what amounts to around $150 a night (rented the whole Villa). Add to that, their $25 a day all you can drink offer and you have the same program as you are describing, for less money. I know where I'd stay. Oh, wait... I am :-)

Hey Curly - Certain you won't remember me - but several years ago when Ricks was still "the place" met you and your wife during one of your performances. When are you in Z - would love to meet up again - especially if you are playing your music

Sounds good. Bringing both my kids and their mates with us this year, so just look for the large, good looking crowd :-)

Ruined by Tripadvisor! Everytime someone asks where to stay on La Ropa it is the answer. Mostly by Labrat (who has never stayed there) and Linda from Canada.
:star:
And so those of us who have stayed there (or more recently had our kids there)for 20 years are going elsewhere.

Although Linda and Keith have mentioned this hotel I really believe that when it was offered by a Canadain travel brochure
as a pacakage (flight and hotel ) it really toke off. In the past only Ixtapa pacakages have been offered. Just a few years ago both Irma and Mexicana were added for beautiful Zihuatanijo . Plus a number of cities were direct flights, big bonus!

We have never stayed there, but have not paid more than 100 usd plus maybe a bit more a night for ocean view and a kitchenette. We have stayed both on La Ropa with view and La Madera. That price seems a little out of the ballpark we would say.
