New road from airport to La Ropa

I'm curious if anyone has information regarding the road that is being built from the highway to La Ropa (bypassing town)? In looking at satelite images over the past few years it looks like they have made significant progress over the past 18 months. I know this is a hotly contested subject. By asking the question I am not endorsing the merits ( environmental impact, likelihood of additional large buses bringing in the masses, etc.). of the road but just trying to see if there's any information floating out there regarding a completion date.

You are correct in your observation that much progress has been made. Hubby walks that road several times a week. He loves it not only for the exercise (there is quite an incline), but also for the tranquility, the nature, and the views are breath-taking. Sorry we don't have any info on completion; I am just confirming that some good progress has been made with the construction.

Yes, I can't help but speak my mind on this.

The road is a monument to corruption. Numerous laws were broken to build it to the point where it is, not to mention other anomalies in the awarding of the construction contract. There is nothing "good" about it, and to call it "progress" is a dubious and relative concept. The dirt footpaths and undisturbed natural state were much more beautiful. Soon it will be full of maniacs driving at high speeds and tour buses belching fumes and noise just like the paved road through the huerta.

By progress, I was simply answering the question and saying that more work has been done during this past year. Nothing more on my part.
