Does anyone know if it is common for Alaskan Airline to have a fare sale on Zih fights in the Fall? Thanks

Sorry, can't answer your inquiry, but I'll bet I'm not the only one who jumped in response to your misleading subject line.

Sorry, if the title was misleading. I thought putting "historic" in it would cover it but I guess historic could be taken two ways.

Yup. I thought you had news of the Alaska sale of the century.

None that I have ever seen.

Once booked, you can call for a credit to be used for future travel, if the price drops prior to your flight.

I have watched mine every year and have had up to three credits one one flight that I used for future travel.
Those credits do expire, so ask when you call customer service for that info.

Credit will be in the "wallet" tab on your free Alaska Airlines membership.

You actually can do it online. The credits in your wallet expire in one year. We check all of our Alaska tickets regularly and have saved hundreds of dollars over the years. Basically as long as you check regularly you will always have the lowest priced ticket. The one caveat is that you lose your place in line for upgrades, so if you have status with Alaska and usually get upgrades, it might not be worth it if the amount is small.

We usually fly down in October and I always end up getting the tickets on sale. I just watch the flights (prior to high season there is only a flight on Tuesday and Fridays so easy to keep an eye on) and how many seats are available. If lots of seats, I just wait and check daily until it drops. We actually fly out of Seattle through LAX and with our companion fair I don't believe I have ever paid more the $370 a ticket and that was high. This years, which I booked maybe 45 days ago, we ended up paying $340. I then keep my eye, as others have said on the price and get a voucher applied if the price drops again. I noticed yesterday the price for our dates was over $600 full fare. Crazy high!
