I want to order ThermaCell Mosquito Patio Light. The problem is the basic unit ships with small butane cartridge as do the refills. The problem is Amazon won't ship because they would ship by air and shipment of butane cartridges by air is prohibited by law.

Anyone driving down who could bring these items? Shoebox size. Or can anyone suggest a ground shipment method that would get thru customs into Mexico?

As an alternative, you might consider the Dynatrap: www.dynatrap.com It has a fan and 2 ultraviolet tubes. We have one on our patio here in Montana. It plugs into a wall outlet and seems to be working well.

My son is using dynatrap in KS, hasn't had it long enough to evaluate. I know Thermcell works as I once used one (near the Bertooth pass E of your area.

Do you know anyone who has Mosquito Magnet? Similar concept to Dynatrap (interrupts breeding cycle)??

I used a Mosquito trap at our place in Anchorage. It sucked up insane amounts of mosquitos. We also have one here in Montana in an area without electricity. It works on propane, batteries and an attractant. The propane lasts about 30 days, so when I replace the tank, I also replace the attractant. The only possible downsides are:
1. Much bigger and heavier than the Dynatrap and
2. When changing propane, one needs to purge the system with a CO2 cartridge. If these are no available in Zihua, they might be a problem shipping by air.

I think it's the same as the kind used in a seltzer bottle. No idea what a CO2 MM gun is.
If you send me your e-mail address, I can scan the box the cartridges come in and forward the picture to you.

That should be a Co2 cartridge for a BB gun. The cartridge is about the size of a half a cigar.
Just found out my son is using drnatraps so can get info from him

I have brought mine (portable one) back and forth in my checked luggage for years.

Maybe someone flying down could bring it?

or, maybe I should not be bringing mine in my luggage?

I once brought the belt clip on model down in my checked luggage OK but I had a refill cartridge in my carry on and they took it at security check.

You scary-looking terrorist types are always trying to pull a fast one on TSA. :nono:

Your post taken in food jest as you intended. BUT when I see prohibited items on flights I always think of the passenger jet that went down with hands in FL a few years ago when O2 tanks in the hold caught fire-not a pleasant way to go.

I don't think that's the same as basically treating EVERYONE as a terrorist and essentially letting the wannabe terrorists win in their quest to cause us to change our lifestyles and give up our freedoms. I prefer the goodle days when I accidentally tried to board a flight to Florida from the Virgin Islands with my Swiss Navy knife, but instead of confiscating it and treating me like a criminal they put it in an envelope and the flight crew held it until I deplaned, when they graciously returned it to me. Humans treating humans with dignity and respect. Imagine that!

No doubt there are those who think profiling similar to what Israel does is more effective than treating everyone like a criminal. Yes, I also remember the good ole days prior to 9/11 when we didn't have TSA but terrorists obviously don't believe in humans treating humans like humans.

Sorry, didn't mean for this to turn into any sort of political statement.

By the same token, Back Then, we had to be in uniform to get the Military Stand-By price to fly.

So there was a Whole Other Group that you had to deal with other than a TSA.
