My saint of a wife helped catch a turtle egg poacher this morning at Playa La Madera and saw him arrested and the eggs turned over to the Marinos who have a special pen where, barring any major storms, they will be safe until they hatch. I couldn't be prouder of her for getting involved. I found a nest on the beach in front of our home that hadn't been robbed, so I reported it to the Marinos who said they would retrieve the eggs.

Still no sign of our municipal government anywhere except for Servicios Públicos who sweep the streets and beaches and pick up the trash. But with election year coming up I expect we'll be hearing from them soon telling us of all their wonderful accomplishments and making promises they'll never keep if they win re-election. This is the first year re-elections for mayors have been possible since the Revolución. Ours hasn't a snowball's chance in hell of getting re-elected. We have no illusions about our politicians here in Mexico.

I never get tired of our absolutely perfect weather. For afternoon siesta and for sleeping at night our weather couldn't be better. A fan on low does the trick to keep us cool but remains optional, especially for folks who use a hammock.

Another mañana, another photographer capturing the magic of the waterfront in Zihuatanejo.

Will any federal or state position holders, (President, Governor, etc) now be able to run for re-election in July/18?
I wouldn't want to be staying within earshot of Plaza Kyoto anytime during the 6 month run-up to those elections. I still can't get the super-amplified campaign songs of Manuel Anorve out of my head, and it's been ....what? ...
9 years, since he ran for Governor. There is a God: Anorve lost. I see he was mayor of Cacapulco from 2009-2012 and we know how well that fair city has been doing.
