Already Tropical Storm Max. Looks like it will be south of us a bit, but I hope we see some precipitation from it.

I think you trust weather forecasts too much. A bad habit for anyone who dwells in the tropics. B-)

Hurricane Max - UPDATE

by ZihuaRob ⌂ @, Zihuatanejo, México, Thursday, September 14, 2017, 12:14 (66 days ago) @ ZihuaRob

It looks like we dodged a bullet. The sun is out and it's just another beautiful day here. Not so in Acapulco where they're getting socked. However, another tropical storm broke off from the same system that formed off our coast several days ago and it's expected to become Hurricane Norma, currently making a bee-line for Los Cabos, which is still recovering from Hurricane Lidia.

I imagine the Pie de la Cuesta cleared out ahead of the storm. The surge would cross that strip of land and fill up the lagoon in no time.

I doubt anyone evacuated from Pie de la Cuesta. The ocean and the wind look pretty calm in Acapulco right now. The hurricane went to the south of them. We had some big waves yesterday and through most of the night but they calmed down quite a bit this morning here in our bay, and if the conditions in Bahía de Santa Lucía are any indicator then Pie de la Cuesta should be fairly normal, too.

I must confess - I've used the Zihua webcam to check the weather to see if I should go to the roof to get my laundry down before it got rained on. I know, ¡muy huevona!
