TAXI to Saladita

by Point Bob @, Wednesday, October 11, 2017, 20:35 (63 days ago)

Does anyone know the cost of a taxi....

1. To Saladita from the airport?
2. Saladita to Troncones?
3. Saladita to Zih
4. Zih to Saladita

Coming in late January and will have to rent two cars (about $1200 US) for 10 days. May be easier just to taxi it around.

We had a car in Zihua. We sold it and are glad we did. Cab rides are inexpensive and you can enjoy the view while someone else has to worry about traffic.

You lived in Madera! Hardly relevant to Saladitas.

Don't know about the other rates.

Didn't think anybody on this board would know about Point Roberts ... a little piece of US land (thus called Point) attached to Canada....that can only be accessed from the continental US by going thru Canada. A full US and Canadian customs office to deal with as well.

With the exception of many American micro-brews, I've found the few Canadian beers I've tasted to be far superior to the pisswaters of the likes of Budweiser, Coors, etc.

I'm sorry I mentioned Point Roberts...went from there to beer to wrestlers. All I wanted was taxi info...learned my lesson!

Sorry I got side-tracked, but we often have conversations on this board. In an earlier response I was unable to answer your Saladita question specifically, but I did suggest taking cabs, rather than renting vehicles.

Of course, but in those days we didn't have much in the way of American brew, that's why it was exotic. The Point was also the only place you could drink on a Sunday. When breathalyzers were first introduced, the cops used to sit on the Canadian side, and get a good haul of DUI's from folks coming back from the Reef and the Breakers..:spank:

On the subject of beer.....

Lately, the condition of my overworked liver (I blame Zihua) has driven me to "near-beer". In Canada, Budweiser's Prohibition Beer says it is 0% alcohol, but tastes too fruity for my liking. Molson's Exel is "less than 0.5% alcohol" and although it's a tad thin, is drinkable. Mexico's Sol Cero is similarly thin. Old Milwaukee's version (available in Zihua, at Bodega Aurrera) is pretty good, but for some reason sells in Mexico at a premium price above most regular beers. The best so far is Grolsch's "less than 0.5%", from Holland. It's one of the best beers I've ever tasted, booze or no-booze, and....bonus....because it's non-alcohol, it sells much cheaper than "regular" beer.
