Thanks to the folks at the Eco-Tianguis Zanca as well as to my saint of a wife for a wonderful breakfast that included a delicious fresh tamal and mouth-watering pastries. Please be sure to visit them and buy their products. These folks work hard to produce quality goods and it shows.

Here and there folks are beginning to spruce up for the upcoming season. I wish I could say the local government was, too, but they remain a huge disappointment. They did repave Benito Juárez avenue, which didn't need it, and they caused more traffic chaos by moving the bus stop from in front of Elektra to a half-block further up the street, and we have some new stick figure sculptures where the bus stop used to be that have nothing to do with Zihuatanejo. Kind of silly looking if you ask me. Oh, and if you have difficulty walking or are mobility challenged in any way you will find crossing the remodeled Benito Juárez avenue to be quite frustrating unless you do so at one of the busy intersections due to the raised planters down the center of the road. Good luck!

Today is the XXXI Regata del Río San Jeronimito. I wish the best of luck to the alkies and the athletes participating, and I hope no one gets hurt beyond a bad hangover. B-)

Pangas getting ready for a long working Saturday.

Good to see Guillermo Arciniega's Don William. That's the panga we always go out on. Looking forward to being down in December.

Folks get in whatever floats and ride down the Río San Jeronimito passing through several areas where there are "rapids" until they get to the finish line at the bridge on the Carretera Nacional 200. Usually the folks who start drinking and whooping it up early don't win but they seem to think they have the most fun, and that's what it's supposed to be about.

There's a link for their Facebook page on my Community Notices & Events page. Should be some photos there.
