I recall reading either here or Facebook recently that someone had found a local supplier for iPhone batteries. Maybe it was Helene? I’d like to find out who to see and where to go, if you’d be so kind. Gracias.

Good to know this. I was in Mexico City in July when my iphone battery died. I went to an Apple re-seller at Perisur mall who said it could be replaced but would take at least 7 business days (sending to states, etc). He suggested I go to the Apple Store in Santa Fe Mall. Once there, I told the rep I loved my 5S (nearly 5 years old) and did not want an upgrade. Within 2 hours, I had a new 5S iphone and all my data in place. Cost 1,700 pesos. Thrilled with the service.

FYI - Santa Fe Mall has every imaginable store on 5 floors; each floor takes 20 min. to walk end-to-end. Worth the trip just to see it.

I had an awful experience. My son's phone died and went to him, I stayed while he tried to fix it and then he said to leave the phone and come back the next day (naïve me, now I know). He said he tried changing the battery but it didn't work. Back home when I took it to the store they said the phone had missing parts.
