You can certainly make a deal to charter a panga to take you to Isla Ixtapa from Zihuatanejo’s pier, but expect to pay a considerable amount for the convenience.

Many panga's from Z go to Playa Linda to work for the day. Going to the dock and asking around might get you a name. I would say if he was going there for the day to work and you offered 150-200 pesos, I bet you could make a deal. Not sure when you are going to be in town but I would contact the Boat “Anabel” Capt.Francisco Cell755-114-7421. Francisco works Playa Linda often. By the way...he is a heck of a fisherman.

We like to fish for a few hours on the way to Isla Ixtapa, where one of the restaurants cooks some of our catch for lunch, while we snorkel at Playa Coral. We always use Guillermo Arciniega's "Don William". Home: 554-2113, cell: 044-755-108-9380.

We did it about 8 years ago when they had a sort of service from the pier (if there were enough people). There were five of us but we had to pay extra since this wasn't enough. Our driver took his time getting over there and throw out a fishing line and went slow part of the way. He spent the day there. While a nice one-time trip I would recommend that you just charter a boat for a direct round trip around the area then go to Playa Linda if you want to go to Isla.
