The Guv says we'll have our new pier by December 2018. Not holding my breath. Another year without any cruise ships. But hey, the so-called authorities still get paid the same (and it's way too much).

Here come some more folks from the cold to the warmth!

A nice sunrise from the pier, which was fairly crowded this morning.

Don't know if I've ever seen approaching from the north, landing to the south.....unless this guy was extremely low on his downwind leg of final approach.....great pic none the less

I've landed from this direction before. It's coming in from the west. There was a nice cool breeze coming from the mountains instead of the ocean, so they flew mostly right into it.

Aircraft land into the wind. When there is none, they have a choice. Saving fuel is/should be a consideration.

Yes we landed in this direction last year, thought pilot didn’t know what s/he was doing.

The first thing a student pilot learns prior to his/her first flight is that take-offs and landings are performed into the wind.

Hola
I have landed in that direction, west to east, several times. Wind direction I guess. It's sort of strange. Seems like you could reach down and touch the palm trees as you come in.
When I am at La Ropa, the wind shifts all the time. You can tell by looking at the flags at the restaurants.
