What a Winter

Woke up yesterday with no water- had a small trickle but did not improve during the morning. Went to the garage which is about 100 ft from the house- no water. There are 2 shut off valves where the water comes from the street- at the T 1 is for the house and the other garage. Checked the meter in the median- no movement. With this cold not letting up, about 11 am called the water department to come and shut off our water at the street. The water won't be turned back on till after we get back on the 5th of Feb. This is the first time since we moved here in 1998 we have had water to freeze in the house. I'm worried about my koi allso because the pump is making noise and the ice is so thick in the pond. Poor Kathie is feeling for her plants. We have some that were brought with us when me moved down in 1998. O'Hare better be open Saturday morning for our direct 7:35 am Flight-also I65 better be open Friday morning going through Northern Indiana. Feeling that blast of hot air stepping off the plane can not be soon enough.

This winter SUCKS!!! NYC metro may break the record of most consecutive days under the freezing mark.

Today we're experiencing a Bomb Cyclone. Then the temps drop significantly - - looking forward to a high of 5 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.

January 23 can't come fast enough!!!!

Saw this morning about the flights being cancelled in the East. They had a reporter at the Lexington airport showing the flights being cancelled to certain air ports in the East.

Sad part, some of the same experts in the 70's 80's predicting we were going into a Ice Age are the sames ones on Global Warming. I am just saying the fallacy of some experts.

If everything works out, will check into Villa Mercedes and then to Any's for lunch then down to a restaurant next by the beach for drinks and snacks and just soak up the view and heat. This is a tradition for us when we come in early before going to the Grand. Looking forward to the Grand sitting out on our balcony watching the boats in the bay. We have had it this cold before but just for a couple of days, not continuous. This is worse than the ice storm a few years ago when we lost electric for a week and would use our wood burning stove in the family room to boil water.

If you love Kentucky Bourbon, you come down and do the Bourbon Trail. All the main distilleries have a gift shop and offers tours of their facilities. They all make it the same way, the only difference is how they tweak their grains- did you know that before they started charring inside the barrels the bourbon was clear. The charring gives both color and taste. The Bourbon Trail is a big tourist attraction and millions are invested in their gift shops. I am available for escort for anyone coming through the Blue Grass around Lexington- you can take the Boy out of Kentucky but can't take Kentucky out of the boy -info my mother's side of the family came into Kentucky with Daniel Boone(like most, were dirt poor). If you like liqueurs, you have to try the peach bourbon over ice(or any flavor). Like eating peaches with a kick.

Our plane touched down at 11:35 am today. We had lunch at Any's soon as we checked in at Villa Mercedes. After a wonderful lunch took a taxi to MEGA(before COMMERCIAL)to stock up on easy to prepare food.
