Another bad taxi! #143 refused us a ride as we weren't going far enough! Fishing hole bar to other side of Kyoto! Still sitting there empty when #606 had no problem! The other one probably still sitting there!! Thanks #606!! sorry we didn't get your name!

We had an issue when a cab refused to take us because we had our small lap dog with us which is fine. I understand that some people are just not dog people and they may not want dogs in their car. But when another taxi, down the line of parked taxis offered to take us, the cab driver, whose turn it was wouldn't let him take us. It was an unpleasant experience as the two drivers had a bit of a heated discussion. After that we never used the lined up taxis (just off Calle Adelita). We just walk down to the road and flag down a cab.
I always call Pedro Moreno for rides. Good guy and speaks perfect English: 044-672-119-2398

That's sweet you found your favorite taxi bro, but there are over 600 taxi drivers and most of them need to work to support their families. You'll find lots of them are "good guys" if you give them a chance.

I would think that they ALL need to work to support their families. We take many cab rides in Zihua and most, but not all, drivers have been polite and helpful. When we need to be picked up at home, we call Pedro.

We were staying just up the street from the taxis's and started to hale a taxi at Villa Mercede and was told we had to use the ones waiting- if the taxi went their way would be problems- I guess they feel they own the area.
Most are good to great!

We have been using a LOT of taxi's lately, a ridiculous number.
Most are very nice and accommodating. Almost all are helpful.
One, only one, played the, "I don't have any change," rushed off and took us for a whole 20p. We now make sure we have very close to the correct change if possible.
One, only one, charged double mid afternoon to Soriana. As my sweeties jaw dropped, I read his taxi number out loud, and he decided he had made a mistake.
Except at Soriana, we flag on them on the street.
Again, we probably average 12+ taxi rides a week (yes, I know) and they do a very good job, and the prices are very very low. Not worth taking the truck out of the garage for us.

For the second time we had a food tax on our taxi ride home from Sorianos. One loaf of bread.

Food tax?
Please elaborate.

The bread went into the trunk at Sorianos but did not come out of the trunk at our condo. We get such good, polite treatment in general that I can't convince myself to be cynical enough to always check for this kind of thing.

Oh, yep a 'food tax' it is. That's gotta suck.
