In March I will be staying in Majahua for a week. Just chillin and shore fishin. What are my options for getting from Majahua to La Saladita for a day trip? Will taxis run up there? Private charter?

How much time to make that drive?

Yes, I have seen the post below regarding the recent issue there. No need to discuss that here, I am just looking for travel options should I choose to make the trip.

Thanks.

Yes it is.

There are local taxis and micros in Troncones that can get you to La Saladita. A taxi will be easiest. Maybe some like-minded folks will join you and split the cost.

Thank you Rob.

Are you a like-minded folk? If you want to do some shore fishing and lunch on me shoot me a message. I will have extra equipment you could use. A way of saying thanks for all the info I have gotten (wrong word?!) off this board over the years.

Good word: From Chambers Etymological Dictionary: ". . .past participle of GET, archaic Scottish and American. ." (Also Canadian--we grew up using it home and still do. My English wife had never heard it and thought it strange!)

Now you can add that tid-bit to all the things you know but really don't need to. :-]

What other word would be used as the "past participle of GET"?

GOT is an acceptable past participle for GET.

Count me amongst those to whom "info I have got" sounds wrong.

Your sentence structure is messy. "I've got info" sounds perfectly fine if you like speaking English. Yo prefiero hablar en español.

If you've got it, you've got it. If you got it in the past, you have gotten it.

If you've got it, you've got it. If you got it in the past, you have gotten it.

If you get it, good. If you’ve got it, flaunt it. If you'd studied more English grammar, you might've got (or gotten) better grades. :kingtut:

Are you sure you want to play this game with a former English teacher?

Being Canadian, I do not consider myself conversant in what passes for English in the USA. So, we have to decide on the terms. What say, old fellow, epees on the pier at dawn? I have been trying to get some spectacles to Lupita. Perhaps she could second?

It will have to be on the rebound. I normally rely on your pictures of sunrise not my own attendance. I hope to see you at Lupita's sometime next week. I still have some hosting responsibilities for the next few days.

Taxi is the best option, but it is pricey. Kombi and bus would take a while.

As far as the same place, yes and no. Few people know or understand that Playa Saladita and the town of Saladita are not really the same. There is a river between them and few Gringos go to the town. The town is likely where the previously mentioned event happened.
