We were here in Nov. Dec. and Feb. 3 to Feb 16. What a great place. Stay within the bounds of any city and you are save, secure and happy! 4 weeks and a great time. Downtown Z. is great especially the fish market and the walkway around the bay. We rode bikes out to Ixtapa Island and around Ixtapa and had a very sweaty and enjoyable time. Again taking in consideration of being in a city in in any country, be aware and ask for INFO!!
What a great area from Las Gatos to Troncones. Love do it.

Years ago we fell in love with Ixtapa with the beauty of the manicured streets. Because of fate with Mexicana's Click Air Line going on strike on a Saturday morning which had the most effect on the Mexican Resort towns we stopped flying on Saturdays. We have a friend whose mother owns a little hotel (Casa Auroa) and discovered "Z". Now we stay a week in "Z" at Villa Mercedes and really enjoy eating at the little restaurants before going to Pacifica Grand. All we want in "Z" is a clean inexpensive hotel- just the basics for there are so many.

It's very close to Los Crocs.
